DR. BRIAN GERBER
EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, VALDOSTA STATE UNIVERSITY STEAM CENTER

Dr. Brian Gerber is a full professor and Director of the STEAM Center for Applied Creativity and Innovation at Valdosta State University. He received his Ph.D. in Science Education from the University of Oklahoma in 1996 before coming to Valdosta State University. Dr. Gerber has been asked to fill a variety of positions on campus, including Interim Dean of the College of Education from 2012-15; and Interim Provost and VP for Academic Affairs for Valdosta State University from 2015-2017. An accomplishment of which Dr. Gerber is most proud is being a key driver in the formation of a new 6-12 grade school (Valdosta Early College Academy) that targets at-risk students. The school continues to flourish with an enrollment of over 200 students. Dr. Gerber has acquired over $10M in external grants to support science education and outreach to students and teachers in the South Georgia region.
